(16,103kg) The hull and deck are hand laid up in accordance with approved laminates and procedures. The standard hull and deck colour is off white (ref. LR #8981). In the hull a combination of woven roving and chopped strand mat are used with thickness increasing towards the keel. There is a reinforcing balsa core in the topsides which stops at six inches above the waterline. Vinylester resin is used for the initial layers below the waterline. The ballast keel is encapsulated entirely within the hull moulding. The deck moulding has a balsa or PVC foam core which is replaced with plywood in high stress areas where fittings are attached. A two part epoxy barrier coat paint is applied below the boot-top for extra anti-osmosis protection. RUDDER The rudder is moulded GRP with a stainless steel stock, the base of which locates onto the bottom rudder skeg. The heel fitting is a cast bronze item. The rudder post is machined to accept cable steering fittings as standard (hydraulic steering available as an option) and a custom emergency tiller is provided. COCKPIT The cockpit is integral with the deck moulding. There is a cockpit locker to starboard which gains access to the aft peak, and a locker under helmsmans seat The cockpit has vertical teak staving to the seat backs, with teak inlay to the seats as standard. The cockpit sole is also teak inlay. Four large cockpit drains are fitted. The standard rig for the vessel is a cutter rig with a club footed staysail to the dimensions as follows: I 52' 0" (15.850m) J 22' 6" (6.855m) P 48' 31/2" (14.274m) E 15' 7" (5.334m) A single spreader aluminium mast ("Brasker") with external halyards for Mainsail, Headsail and Staysail. Three winches and cleats are mast mounted for halyards. One masthead light, one bow light and one pair of spreader lights are installed. The aluminium boom is fitted with an internal outhaul system and two winches and cleats for outhaul and reefing. The mast and boom are painted white. Standing rigging is of 1 x 19 stainless steel wire with swage on upper end fittings and swage on turnbuckles at lower fittings. Running rigging is of low stretch double braid polyester with stainless steel shackles. SAILS The standard sails supplied are by UK Sailmakers and include the following: MAINSAIL 8.8oz Cruising cross cut main with three reefs and a total area of 35.23m2 HEADSAIL 8.8oz Cruising cross cut, 80% hanks on Yankee - total area of 45.93m2 STAYSAIL 8.8oz Cruising cross cut hanks on Staysail - total area of 19.36m2 BOOM COVER YANKEE READY BAG STAYSAIL READY BAG The side decks, coach roof and cockpit are all teak covered, 9/16" thick, laid down on two part flexible sealant, and screwed and plugged. Ventilation is provided by three opening stainless steel framed deck hatches, 10 bronze opening elliptical portholes, one opening custom skylight, and four stainless steel dorade ventilators. Teak grab rails are fitted on the coach roof. The drained gas bottle locker is incorporated into the the teak deck box mounted forward and has space for two bottles. ANCHORS AND WARPS One 45lb galvanised Plough anchor with chain and rope rode is supplied along with three mooring lines. The interior of the vessel will be with solid teak staving and selected teak veneers. The cabin sole is teak and holly striped, and the overheads are finished in custom white FRP panels with solid teak trims. There is an optional layer of insulation above the overheads offered. Counter tops and the chart table are finished with black Formica, the galley work surface as well as the bathroom counters are finished in white Formica as standard, options include marble, granite, or 'corian style' surfaces from our selected samples. All doors are of solid teak with ventilation louvers to the lower panel as standard. All door frames, locker doors and frames are of solid teak construction. All door furniture is brass (stainless fittings are available as an option). Teak gratings over the FRP shower pans are standard. CHAIN LOCKER Painted white, and drains directly overboard port and starboard, via holes, and GRP clam shell covers to the boot top. Aft plywood bulkhead is painted white, and is sealed all around, but not termed as a water tight bulkhead. An access hole is cut into the bulkhead to access the chain locker from the forward head. FORWARD HEAD White Formica counter surfaces, stainless steel washbasin, bronze mixer faucet to basin, A manual marine head installed in the correct manner with vented loops on both salt water inlet and discharge. Y-Valve fitted into discharge line allowing waste to be discharged directly overboard, or to integral holding tank. General finish of the head to be white FRP mouldings, and panels with teak trims. Teak louvered door to locker under the washbasin, teak framed mirrored sliding doors to lockers over the washbasin. Finish to the inside of the lockers is in white Formica with teak trims. The lockers either side of the head is fitted with shelves for stowage of towels, etc. A teak toilet tissue holder is fitted to the inside of the locker door under the washbasin. A bronze opening port to starboard, fitted with a brass portlight chain to hold the port in an open position, and dorade vent provides ventilation to the compartment. The dorade vent is fitted with a screen, and the port is supplied with a screen to prevent insects entering the compartment. A separate shower stall is located to port, with moulded shower pan, and fibreglass lined bulkheads. The shower pan is fitted with a teak grating and a teak slatted seat is fitted outboard, a teak towel rail is mounted to the aft bulkhead, and a teak rail over the entrance secures the shower curtain. A bronze shower mixer with hot and cold water is fitted. A bronze opening port, fitted with a brass portlight chain to hold the port in an open position, and dorade vent provides ventilation to the compartment. The dorade vent is fitted with a screen, and the port is supplied with a screen to prevent insects entering the compartment. Standard door furniture to lockers consist of teak finger holes and brass elbow catches with barrel bolts on double doors. The washbasin drains into a the shower drain system. Shower sump drains into the shower drain system, mounted under the forward berth, and discharging overboard through a seacock located under the forward berth. The shower sump operates automatically and has a separate circuit breaker at the DC panel. Y-Valve and vented loops are located in the locker outboard of the head. Salt water inlet seacock for the marine head is located under the removable sole panel of the head. The compartment is fitted with one overhead dome light, with white and red 'night vision' lamps switched independently on the light fitting, and one twin directional spotlight fitting over the washbasin. One double outlet for AC power is fitted to locker font above the washbasin. An overhead dome light, with white and red 'night vision' lamps switched independently on the light fitting, is also fitted in the separate shower stall. A solid teak door with a louvered lower panel, fitted with brass hinges and mortise lock, a brass robe hook, and teak towel rail, leads aft to the forward cabin. A gooseneck hook holds the door in an open position. FORWARD CABIN Teak staved throughout. Teak bookshelf running along port side of Pullman berth. 4 (four) drawers are fitted under the berth, and a louvered double door locker to aft, alongside drawers. The compartment is fitted with one overhead dome light, with white and red 'night vision' lamps switched independently on the light fitting, one twin directional spotlight fitting over the bookshelf to port, and one brass reading lamp to the aft bulkhead of the berth. One double outlet for AC power is fitted outboard of the berth over the bookshelf. The hanging locker to port, is split to form stowage shelves to the forward end, with hanging space to the aft end. Locker is lined with teak veneers and white Formica with teak trims to the shelves, and an automatic locker light is fitted. A small dressing seat is fitted under the hanging locker. A 12 gallon water heater is installed under the Pullman berth. The water heater is of the calorifier type, whereby engine coolant is circulated through a coil within the cylinder, thus heating the water when the engine is running. The unit also has an electric heating element installed which enables hot water to be produced when the vessel has ac power. One bronze opening port to starboard, and one bronze opening port to port are each fitted with a brass portlight chain to hold the port in an open position, Two stainless steel deck hatches overhead provide ventilation to the compartment. The ports and hatches are each supplied with a screen to prevent insects entering the compartment. Standard door furniture to lockers consist of teak finger holes and brass elbow catches with barrel bolts on double doors. A solid teak door with a louvered lower panel, fitted with brass hinges and mortise lock, a brass robe hook, leads aft to the saloon. A gooseneck hook holds the door in an open position. SALOON Teak Staved throughout. A U-shaped dinette is to port, and a settee to starboard. Stowage lockers with teak louvered doors are fitted forward and aft, with bookshelves between. Ample stowage is provide under the settees. A large teak veneered dining table, with solid teak removable fiddles is the focal point of the saloon. The compartment is fitted with two overhead dome lights, with white and red 'night vision' lamps switched independently on the light fitting, twin directional spotlights are fitted over the bookshelves to port and starboard, Two double outlets for AC power are fitted to the aft outboard cabinets. Two bronze opening ports one starboard, and one to port are each fitted with a brass portlight chain to hold the port in an open position. A large opening skylight overhead provides ventilation to the compartment. The ports and skylight are each supplied with a screen to prevent insects entering the compartment. Standard door furniture to lockers consist of teak finger holes and brass elbow catches with barrel bolts on double doors. Moving aft the Nav station is located to starboard, and the Galley to port. Both have been located near to the vessels pitch centre. NAV. STATION Teak staved throughout, the Navigation station faces outboard with a swing out seat. The large chart table is finished in black Formica with solid teak trims. The chart table top lifts to provide chart stowage under, and a two drawers, and a locker provide stowage under the table. The main electrical panel is mounted to the aft panel, and the bilge pump control panel and the tank monitoring system is mounted to the forward panel. The area is fitted with one overhead dome light, with white and red 'night vision' lamps switched independently on the light fitting, one twin directional spotlight fitting over the Nav station. One double outlet for AC power is fitted. A bronze opening port above the nav. station, is fitted with a brass portlight chain to hold the port in an open position, the port is supplied with a screen to prevent insects entering the compartment. GALLEY Teak staved throughout, the galley is located to port and is fitted with a deep stainless double sink facing forward. A bronze mixer faucet provides hot and cold water from the pressurised main. In addition two bronze handpumps are fitted, one providing salt water, the other one fresh water from the vessels tanks. Teak cutting boards are supplied for the sink. White Formica counter surfaces. Ample stowage is provided by way of drawers and lockers. The large FRP iceboxes are insulated with 4" of polyurethane foam and are accessed via lift tops and an openingside door. The gimballed stove is a Force 10 three burner with broiler, and is fitted into a stainless steel lined opening. Access to the engine can be gained through a door under the sink The galley sink drains directly overboard, and a seacock is accessed under a removable sole panel. The area is fitted with one overhead dome light, with white and red 'night vision' lamps switched independently on the light fitting, twin directional spotlights are fitted to the work spaces. AFT CABIN A solid teak door with a louvered lower panel, fitted with brass hinges and mortise lock, leads to the after cabin. A gooseneck hook holds the cabin in an open position. Teak staved throughout. A good-size berth is fitted. A hanging locker outboard, and is lined with teak veneers and white Formica with teak trims to the shelves, and an automatic locker light is fitted. A teak book shelf is fitted outboard of the berth. A small dressing seat is fitted in front of the hanging locker. The compartment is fitted with one overhead dome light, with white and red 'night vision' lamps switched independently on the light fitting, one twin directional spotlight fittinmounted under the book shelf, and one brass reading lamp to the forward bulkhead over the berth. One double outlet for AC power is fitted at hanging locker. Access to the steering gear is via a double doors to the aft bulkhead. One bronze opening port is fitted with a brass portlight chain to hold the port in an open position. One dorade vent provides ventilation to the compartment. The dorade vent is fitted with a screen, and the port is supplied with a screen to prevent insects entering the compartment. The vessel has installed integral water tanks with an approximate capacity of 150 gallons (567 litres), two integral fuel tanks, coated with approved epoxy tank coating with a total capacity of approximately 100 gallons (380 litres), and one integral holding tank with a capacity of approximately 25 gallons (94 litres). The pressurised hot and cold water system consists of one 12V DC water pressure pump with strainer and an accumulator to provide an even flow and to eliminate water hammer, and one 12 gallon calorifier, with a fitted element for hot water from AC power. All fresh water pipework uses WHALE fittings for hot and cold water. An AC power system (110V or 220V) is wired to run from a shore power connection point, and there is one AC outlet in each area ; Aft cabin, galley, Saloon, Forward Cabin. Standard lighting fixtures are Brass 5 inch dome lights with twin switches for white and red 'night vision' lighting, twin spotlight lights in alcoves and under shelving, Brass reading lights are fitted above the berths, and red cabin sole courtesy lights throughout.
